As the tempting aroma of big fat wedges of french fries, courtesy of my office mates, travel to my deprived nostrils, I am reminded that I have 21 more days to go. It is then that I decide that my will power must override my yearning desire to attack that bag of fries.
This diet, like any, sure has its days. Some are easier than others. Anything and everything “looks so good!” to me, even stuff I don’t even like. Funny how our senses play with us.
We are without a doubt a society, a culture of over indulgence. We over consume EVERYTHING! Keeping track of my carb intake and sugar has really made me realize more than ever just how addicted we are to sugar. I notice the difference and it’s hard to deal with when you’ve gone years, practically all your life, putting all this sugar into your body. Waaaaaay too much sugar. Just look at the nutritional chart next time you put something into your mouth. Look at the servings and how much sugar is in a serving, just a serving, and you’ll see.
Making this sacrifice is a struggle but I know it’ll be well worth it. Almost a week after working out twice a day and following my regimen, I have lost approximately 3 lbs. I wish it was more but I know that’s not very realistic. However, I am proud of my progress, and I just hope that I get down to the weight that I need to be for this character.
My plan is to continue up until my last day of filming. After that, it’s all about maintenance.
This was and is definitely the kick in the ass that I need to lose weight and get back in shape. Better yet, in even better shape than I was before.
