When you hear the word “wedding” what comes to mind? Preparing for the big day can be stressful, not only for the bride & groom, but for the guests as well especially when it comes to gift giving. You want to follow their registry and make it memorable. That can be quite challenging. I for one rarely follow registries and on the rare occasions that I do, I give it my own twist.
I’m going to share with you how I’d spruce up a Target wedding registry item for my favorite newlywed couple, my childhood friend Carmela and her hubby Roger.
WHAT YOU”LL NEED:
– Riedel Vivant White Wine Glasses
– Skittles (or the couple’s favorite candy)
– Spritz Favor Bags
All you have to do is fill the glasses with the candy, not all the way though. Then place the glass inside of a Spritz Favor Bag (any clear plastic “goodie” bag will do) and then tie at the top. These glasses were too tall for the bags so I recommend smaller glasses. This is a simple way to have your gift be memorable and personal.
In this case I’d fill it with a variety of tea and bread. I know this would make her laugh and it’d be unique from the sea of “wedding registry” gifts. Plus, post wedding chaos they can decompress, drink some tea and eat some bread, together. Every time Carmela sees that cake stand she’ll think of me 😉
My favorite products from Target’s Wedding Catalog are the Schwinn Legacy Cruisers for him & her (unavailable online). They can ride around Brooklyn and hit up Prospect Park for a romantic picnic once the weather gets nicer.
My other four favs are for the kitchen and bathroom: Calphalon Kitchen Essentials 12 piece Stainless Steel Cookware Set, OXO SoftWorks Stainless Steel Ice Bucket, Threshold™ Antique Glass Soap Dispenser – Blue and the Threshold™ Geometric Bath Towel. These items are practical for daily life but also great for when the time comes to entertain guests. These essential home items and then some can be found at Target, check out their Wedding Catalog.
