Happy Wednesday beauties! I’m sure some of you are taking advantage of the extended Cyber Monday deals and so I wanted to share a product I’ve had the opportunity to test for a few days. If you have someone on your Christmas list to cross off, assuming she is a beauty/hair obsessed gal, this might be something to scoop up.
The KISS InstaWave curler is a unique product that makes curling your hair super easy. It is a fully automatic tangle-free curler that instantly creates beautiful curls. Let me break it down to you!
Another difference and cool feature is the button to rotate the hair left or right. Like most hair appliances, it has two temperature settings for high or low heat with a maximum temperature of 420°.
Here’s something I really like. We all know that a green or red light usually indicates that it’s on right?
With the KISS InstaWave, the red light turns blue to let you know that optimal temperature has been reached. In other words, it’s ready for use!
After 90 minutes it automatically shuts off. Thank God because imagine forgetting to turn it off before you jet out the door?! Ay, ay, ay.
I read a few reviews about a weird buzzing/hissing sound when it’s plugged in and there was definitely some of that. But, fear not, it’s perfectly fine and honestly after awhile I didn’t even hear it anymore. It may simply be a noise that it makes while heating up. No need to worry!
Using it was a bit tricky. I read the pamphlet it came with and followed the instructions but it didn’t always work for me. I think I just need to keep using it and I will find my own lil tricks to make using it easier. With that being said, let’s get into a mini tutorial 😉
I found that holding my hair closer to the rotating section made it easier to grab hair. I tried to hold it vertically and parallel to my hair but that didn’t always work. The left/right buttons was really useful is curling my hair away from my face or towards my face, which I really liked because over the years I’ve lost my touch for using the curling iron LOL. I used to be so good!
As you can see from step #4, it probably looks like my hair was getting all tangled. I thought that too when using it but as it continues to rotated the hair just kind of smooths itself out. You will FEEL when it’s getting “tangled” or stuck and all you have to do is press the button to start rotating in the opposite direction to release the hair. Then, just do it again.
The InstaWave gets really hot so DO NOT touch the barrel! There’s no need to. And because it’s so hot you just have to leave the hair rotating for 5 -10 seconds (for really tight curly or less for more beachy waves), the. stop pressing the button, and slowly pull the InstaWave vertically down to release.
If you want a more natural curl look simply switch between curling right and left, that’s what I did!
Although I found the KISS InstaWave tricky to use, like I said before, I’m sure with continued use I’ll get the hang of it. It was (and is) much easier to use that your traditional curling iron. No clamp impressions here! It’s relatively fast and easy, anyone can use it, from any angle, with any hand.
I don’t typically use product on my hair when it’s dry (blow dried straight), like hairspray etc and my hair still was able to hold the curl. Here’s the final look!!
Can you peep that small section I missed?! hahaha. Curly my long hair was challenging but I recently cut, colored, and layered it and can’t wait to use it on my “new” locks. Curling the layers will help make them appear more prominently.
Overall I’d say I really enjoyed using the KISS InstaWave. It’s fast and easy which is essential in today’s busy, always on the go lifestyle that most of us live.
So try it out, play around with it, and let me know what you think!
Thanks so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed this KISS InstaWave review and tutorial 😉
